On the way back west you sleep beside the ksar of Aït Ben Haddou and finish with a guided walk in Marrakech. It suits first-time visitors, couples and families who prefer a relaxed rhythm.

Why two nights in the desert?
The extra night gives you a full day for Khamlia and Rissani and a second sunset on the dunes, without driving straight off after sunrise.
How long are the driving days?
Most stages are three to five hours. The Fes to Merzouga day is the longest at around eight hours with breaks.
Can I add Essaouira?
Yes. Our twelve-day loop adds a night in Essaouira, or we can add it to this route on request.
What type of accommodation is used?
Riads in Chefchaouen, Fes and Marrakech, small hotels in Rabat and the Dades Valley, a kasbah guesthouse at Aït Ben Haddou and a tented camp in Erg Chebbi.
Is this suitable for children?
Yes. The shorter stages and two-night desert stop work well for families, and we can arrange child seats on request.
What should I bring?
Warm layers for desert nights, sunscreen, a hat, comfortable walking shoes and modest clothes for mosque visits.
